What is Reconstructive Surgery?
To be a board-certified Plastic Surgeon, it is required to attain mastery of both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. Reconstructive Surgery is the branch of plastic surgery dedicated to helping restore function and form to the body affected by trauma, disease, or congenital defects. Dr. Chang firmly believes that one cannot be a good cosmetic surgeon without being a good reconstructive surgery – and vice versa.
These surgical procedures involve the treatment and repair of lacerations, wounds, burns, and facial fractures.
Scar management treatments are designed to reduce and minimize scar tissue formation. These may include scar revisions, injections, and medications customized for the individual’s area of concern.
Skin Cancer Reconstruction
These surgical procedures involve reconstruction of defects of the face/body created by Mohs Surgery, a specialized dermatologic technique that removes certain types of skin cancer on the face.
All consultations with Dr. Chang are unhurried and relaxed. First and foremost, a thorough medical examination and history is performed to ensure all safety precautions are properly addressed. Adequate time is taken to listen to all of your questions and to focus in on what your precise concerns may be. If you are a suitable candidate, a customized treatment plan will be designed for you.
